Author Biography
Warhol Andy (1928-1987) - American artist of Ukrainian origin. Painter, graphic artist, sculptor, designer, producer, writer, publisher and film director, a cult figure in the history of pop art and art of the twentieth century as a whole. Born in Pittsburgh, USA. He studied at the Art Faculty of Technology, Carnegie Institute (Pittsburgh, 1945-1949). Moved to New York (1950). He worked as illustrator in different magazines oformlyuvav windows, creating posters and leaflets. He made his debut at the show in New York (1952). He received an honorary prize "Club of art editors" (1956). In 1960-1962 created a sensational series of paintings that reflect the culture of mass consumption, which immediately lifted to the top of the wizard glory. Had to stand in his own studio in downtown Manhattan building, known as "Factory" (1963), where technology-based lottery organized the "production" of contemporary art, and the place was legendary center of the creative community. The works are in major museums of contemporary art and private collections around the world. The market value of works of masters often measured in tens of millions of dollars.
