Press release
An exhibition of collectible sculptures by the most famous Ukrainian authors will open in Kyiv

From September 13 to October 5, 2019 in the exhibition hall of the Golden Section auction house (Kyiv, 4 Pervomaisky St.), an exhibition-sale "Ukrainian modern sculpture" will be held.

The exposition presents the works of famous Ukrainian sculptors - 50 collection sculptures made in different materials and techniques, from bronze and marble to ceramics and wood.

Many works come from private collections, and some works have already been repeatedly exhibited in Ukraine and other European countries.

“A large-scale exhibition of Ukrainian contemporary sculpture is a rare event for Ukraine. We are pleased to show the audience a real cut of the work of outstanding sculptors of the last 50 years, from underground to the present. I am sure that the exposition will attract the attention of the general public and will become a good tradition for us to hold such exhibitions,” said Mikhail Vasilenko, co-owner of the Golden Section auction house.

The block of artists of the Ukrainian underground will be presented by the collection works of Boris Plaksiya, Ernest Kotkov, Yulia Sinkevich, Viktor Grigorov, whose names are now widely known to collectors and connoisseurs of the art of the sixties.

Classical sculpture is represented by such recognized authors as Yuri Ruban (famous for his animal statues at the entrance to the Kiev zoo), Alexander Skoblikov (author of the Peoples' Friendship Arch), Yuri Bagalika, Alexander Radionov, Victor Lipovka and other artists.

Among the landmark works of the exhibition - "Rain" by Nazar Bilyk, soap sculpture by Masha Kulikovskaya - works from this series are already in the collection of the Odessa Art Museum.

In addition, the viewer will see sculptures of young but already well-known Kiev authors, whose works were presented at major sculptural exhibitions and successfully went under the hammer at famous foreign auctions. Among them are sculptures: Alexei Zolotarev, Peter Gronsky, Vitaly Protoseni, Ilya Novgorodov and the Zigur brothers.

In addition to the classic round sculpture, guests of the exhibition will get acquainted with the relief compositions of Alexander Sukholit, Bogdan Tomashevsky and Roman Mikhailov.

All the exhibited works can not only be viewed, but also purchased in your collection. An exhibition catalog of the same name has been published.

Exhibition work schedule:
September 13 - October 5, 2019
Monday-saturday
11:00 - 19:00
