Biography of the author
Deyak Mykhailo (born in 1984) - Ukrainian painter. Born in Zolotariovo village, Transcarpathian region. He studied at the Uzhgorod College of Arts named after A. Erdeli (1999-2003) under supervision of V. Mykyta. Graduated from the National Academy of Fine Arts and Architecture (2009), where he studied at the workshop of profesor V. Zabashta under senior teacher I. Melnychuk. The artist is actively exhibiting his works which are being sold throughout the auctions of Ukraine and abroad. According to the Art Investment publishing project, Mykhailo Deyak was ranked among TOP 20 young modern artists of CIS countries. Forbes Ukraine ranked him the 7th Tier among the most prospective artists of Ukraine. Voloshyn Gallery, a gallery in Kyiv, represented Ukraine on the international art fair SCOPE Basel in 2016 by exposing a personal exhibition of M. Deyak. The Ministry of Culture of Ukraine has purchased 7 works of the artist. His works are stored by funds of National Art Museum of Ukraine and within private collections throughout Ukraine, Canada, USA, UK, France, Switzerland, Hungary and China. Mykhailo Deyak represents the young generation of modern Ukrainian artists. He works in between of neo-expressionism and minimalism, experiments with materials working with glass and metal as well as masters in all the painting techniques. Lives and works in Kyiv.
