Alexandr Klymenko "Suprems and raduhems"
Phillips and Sotheby's bidder artist Oleksandr Klymenko will present a new project in Kyiv
On October 13, the leading Ukrainian contemporary artist Oleksandr Klymenko will present his new personal project "Supremes and Rainbows" for the first time at the "Zolotoe Sechenie" auction house (Kyiv, 4 Pervomaiskyho St.).
About 20 paintings by the renowned author, most of which were created in 2017-2018, will be available to the public until October 31. Entry to the exhibition is free for everyone.
The organizer of the event is the auction house "Zolotoe Sechenie", the curator of the project is Oleksiy Vasylenko.
Oleksandr Klymenko has been one of the most popular Ukrainian contemporary artists abroad for many years, a researcher of the avant-garde of the early 20th century. For many years, the author has been conducting an intellectual dialogue with the ideas of the "father" of Suprematism and Cubofuturism, Kazimir Malevich. In 2017, after many years of research and experiments, Klymenko created and theoretically substantiated in texts and manifestos a new author's direction of modern art - Radugematism. According to the artist, the new pictorial elements invented and articulated by him - the radium and the spectral ray - the spectrema, are the successors of Malevich's famous supremum. Radugema and spectrema, according to Klymenko, are new universal symbols of the future of civilization, reflecting the latest discoveries of theoretical physics, achievements of science, and information technologies.
Klymenko's famous round canvases have repeatedly participated in Phillips and Sotheby's auctions in London and New York. In particular, a painting from the author's project "Solar Hedonism" was bought in London at Phillips for $21,000.
"The new series of the artist's works is a logical continuation of his work, which this time is presented in direct dialogue with the ideas of Suprematism. I am sure that the Ukrainian public and collectors will appreciate the creations of the author, whose paintings are included in museum, corporate and private art collections around the world," Oleksiy Vasylenko notes.
