Most of the auction collection will be paintings by Ukrainian artists of the Soviet and pre-war periods, but it will also include sculpture and graphic works. All painting schools of Ukraine (Kyiv, Odessa, Kharkiv, Lvov, Transcarpathia, Crimea, Donetsk) will be widely represented at the exhibition. In total, the auction will feature more than 140 works.

Among the works put up for auction are the iconic works of Ukrainian masters of painting: "The Seagulls" by Nikolay Glushchenko (120-150 thousand dollars) - one of the favorite works of the author himself, "Skiers" by Lyudmila Semykina (15-20 thousand dollars), "Spring Still Life" by Nikolai Maksimenko (20-25 thousand dollars), "Spring" by Viktor Zaretsky (25-30 thousand dollars), "Chrysanthemums" by Valentina Tsvetkova (15-20 thousand dollars), "Confession" by Sergei Miloradovich (15-20 thousand dollars), "Tea" by Opanas Zalivakha (10-15 thousand dollars), "Shevchenko in the barracks" by Samuil Kruchakov (8-12 thousand dollars) and others.

In addition, among the top lots of the auction are the works of such classics of painting as Ivan Trush, Ivan Izhakevich, Maria Primachenko, Petr Stolyarenko, Roman Selsky, V. Chegodar and others.

Mykhailo Vasilenko, art historian, director of the Golden Section auction house: “Today, the Ukrainian art market is going through hard times, our current goal is to raise interest and stimulate the market with high sales, so this auction will feature top works that were almost impossible to buy even before the crisis. In our opinion, almost every work presented at the auction deserves special attention from collectors; or Ivan Trush. In any case, today the purchase of works of such a high class is the most profitable investment, because a serious rise in the art market should already occur in 2011. I am sure that if the authorities allocated certain amounts for museums to replenish their collections, they would not acquire here few masterpieces. Now individuals or corporate clients still have such an opportunity, so now is the time to assemble a serious collection over several years, since prices are more affordable, and the material at auctions is of better quality.” "Ukrainian, Russian art of the XIX-XXI centuries." will be the twelfth auction organized by the Golden Section Auction House. For 4 months (from September to December) "Golden Section" will hold 4 auctions - including 2 new ones - exclusive interior items from 1900-2000. - "DESIGN" and painting by "unofficial" artists "AVANGARD".
