Charity auction from NAOMA and Goldens auction house for the restoration of Mykhailo Boychuk Kyiv State Academy of Decorative and Applied Arts and Design
From August 22 to 30, with the support of the Goldens auction house, auctions of a charity auction initiated by NAOMA will be held, 100% of the funds from which will be transferred to the restoration of the Kyiv State Academy of Decorative and Applied Arts and Design named after Mykhailo Boychuk.
Since the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, domestic cultural and artistic institutions have experienced real terror from the military aggressor. Our museums, art centers, and educational institutions became objects of Russian war crimes. The country, which for centuries denied the national and cultural identity of Ukraine, is now fighting fiercely against Ukrainian culture: museums, schools, universities are subjected to rocket attacks, buildings are destroyed, collections are looted, exhibits are taken away, the educational process is stopped.
Thus, on March 25, 2024, as a result of a rocket attack on Kyiv, part of the building of the Kyiv State Academy of Decorative and Applied Arts and Design named after Mykhailo Boychuk was destroyed, the workshop of monumental and easel painting, a sports hall, a congress hall, the museum of cultural heritage of Mykhailo Boychuk, partial the assembly hall and exhibition gallery of the Academy were damaged. The purpose of this charity auction is to transfer the funds received for the restoration of the Academy named after M. Boychuk.
The selection consists of the works of famous Ukrainian artists, professors of NAOMA, national and honored artists of Ukraine. The rector of NAOMA, prof. Tsugorka O.P., Dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts and Architecture Melnychuk I.Yu., People's Artists of Ukraine Barynova-Kuleba V.I., Guida M.E., Perevalskyi V.E., Yalanskyi A.I., Honored Artists of Ukraine Zorko A.E., Chervatiuk V.O., honored artists Belyanskyi O.M., Bludov A.V., Svynarev V.V., Solovei O.V., Pylypenko I.Ya., as well as Gaidar A. M., Galayad B.M., Gluhenkyi I.I., Dotsenko D.S., Kolesnikov V.V., Kohal N.V., Malilio M., Mesyur A.V., Piskunov E.O., Pavelchuk I.A., Khrapachov O.M., Tymchenko T.R., Synytskyi K.V., Skrypitsyn S.O., Khrapachov O.M., Tsoi A.V. and other artists.
The auction features 32 works by artists who teach at NAOMA. Among the works provided are painting, graphics and sculpture. The formed collection also presents a wide variety of genres.
