Press release
Rare works of Ilya Repin, Viktor Zarubin, Oleksandr Bogomazov and other famous Ukrainian classics will be put up for auction of collectible art in Kyiv

On February 21, the Goldens auction house will present to the general public a project unique in its content - an auction of collectible classical art, where such famous people as Ilya Repin, Viktor Zarubin, Oleksandr Bogomazov, Anna Kruger-Prahova, Oleksandra Ekster, Serhii Vasylkivskyi, Maria Prymachenko, Ivan Marchuk will be presented and other. A total of 52 works of the end of the 19th and 20th centuries are presented in the auction collection.

Due to the rarity of the works collected for the auction, the auction exhibition and online bidding of the 60th anniversary auction will last longer than usual - for 14 days. From February 21 to March 5, everyone will be able to visit the exposition presented in the hall of the Goldens auction house and place bids on their favorite lots in the project's online catalog at www.gs-art.com.

"We are pleased to start a new season of painting auctions with rare names. In fact, it is not possible to see the works of many of the featured artists even in museums, because their collections are not presented in exhibitions due to frequent shelling. Therefore, I sincerely recommend not to miss such an event, to visit us to enjoy the works of famous artists, and also, if possible, to take part in the auction and compete for them, because the starting prices will be much lower than their market value - notes Mykhailo Vasylenko. - Artists - wanderers, impressionists, avant-garde artists, artists of various schools, constellations and directions - this is an inexhaustible list of those who are represented at the "Collectible Classical Art" auction. Personally, it is difficult for me to single out the works of certain authors in the auction collection, because all the lots in the collection are interesting either from the point of view of the author's name or the context of the period of creation, or a unique or atypical plot for the author, or simply very high-quality museum-level work. Undoubtedly, all works are worth attention and collectors will be able to bargain for many unique examples of classical Ukrainian art."

The collection of the current auction has brought together many names significant for the history of Ukrainian art. Among them are the so-called "stolen" artists whose creative achievements, despite their origin and affiliation, were attributed to the full-scale invasion of Russia - Ilya Repin, Viktor Zarubin, Oleksandr Bogomazov, Kiriyak Kostandi, Valentin Feldman. The TOP lots of the auction should also include the works of famous impressionists of the beginning of the 20th century - these are Anna Kruger-Prahova, Ivan Trush and Abram Manevich; artists - emigrants - Vasyl Khmelyuk, Mykola Isayev, Mykola Butovych, Petr Kholodny, Vasyl and Mykola Krychevskyi.

A special place in the auction collection is occupied by works from the private collection of the famous Ukrainian writer Oles Honchar. Among them is a Crimean landscape by Mykola Hlushchenko paired with a postcard with the artist's gift signature; the work of Vasyl Krychevskyi, Ivan Trush and Yevhen Vrzeshch.

The galaxy of artists of the Transcarpathian school is represented by two works of a rare early period of creativity - Fedor Manayla, as well as works by Yosyp Bokshay and Andrii Kotsky. The Lviv school is presented by Volodymyr Patyk, Zenovii Flinta and Maria Kurochka. Kostyantyn Lomykin and Albin Gavdzinsky represent the Odessa school of painting of the second half of the 20th century. The sixties are represented by the works of Opanas Zalivakha, Ferenc Seman, Oleg Kostkevych, Viktor Grigorov, Viktor Zaretskyi.

Collectors deserve special attention: the warm autumn landscape of Kyiv by Serhii Shyshko; the work of Maria Prymachenko, where the traditional "beast" is made in rare white-yellow-blue colors for the artist; the unique work "Horses" by Ivan Marchuk, from the series "New expeditions created by the author in the USA in the 1990s"; the work of Mykola Babak, dedicated to the historical events of the creation of the Kremenchug Reservoir.

The sculptural block is represented by bronze and ceramic sculptures of famous Ukrainian masters. Among them is Yuri Ruban's Falcon; a playful ceramic clown from the "Circus" series by Olga Rapai; the charismatic dancer of the Viennese sculptor of Ukrainian origin Petro Tereshchuk; the bronze family of refugees by the emigrant Hryhori Kruk, as well as the modernist sculpture of wrestlers by Oleg Kostkevych.
