Author Biography
Leonid Voitsekhov (1955-2018) is a Ukrainian artist, graphic artist, author of performances, installations, and artistic actions. He was born in Odesa. He graduated from the Odesa Art School named after M. Grekov (1973); the Faculty of Art and Graphics of the Ushynskyi Pedagogical Institute (1976). He studied at the Faculty of Architecture of the Odesa Civil Engineering Institute (1977-1978). He was a member of the art groups Furmannyi Pereulok and Chistoprudnyi Pereulok (since 1987). Leader of the group of Odesa conceptualists ‘Apt-Art’ (since 1982). Moved to Moscow (1987). He lived and worked in Odesa (since 1995) and in Moscow. The artist's works are kept in the State Tretyakov Gallery (Moscow), the Ludwig Museum (Cologne), the Museum of Modern Art (Aachen), the Museum of Modern Art (Bern), the Museum of Contemporary Art (Melbourne).
