The largest and most diverse auction in the history of Ukraine "Classic. Contemporary. Design" November 10, 2012 from the auction house "Golden Section".

From November 3 to November 9, 2012, a pre-auction exhibition will be held in the premises of the M17 Center for Contemporary Art, which will end on November 10 with a big auction of the Golden Section auction house - “Classic. contemporary. Design". The collection of the pre-auction exhibition will present three blocks at the same time: Classical art, Contemporary art and Design.

The block "Classical Art" at the auction will be the most voluminous and will amount to about 100 lots, among which the collectors will see paintings by outstanding Ukrainian, Russian and Western European artists of the 19th-21st centuries.

Traditionally, the collection in this segment will consist of several blocks: Classical art of the XIX - early. XX century, classical art of the Soviet and modern periods, unofficial art of the XX century (avant-garde, underground, non-conformism) and European art of the XIX-XX centuries.

Truly collectible works of the upcoming auction are undoubtedly the work: "Date" of the 1880s. N. Bodarevsky, "Landscape with cows and haystacks" by Ivan Trush, a famous series of lithographs with scenes from Russian life - a genre painter of the beginning. 19th century - by I. Shchedrovsky, the work of the avant-garde master David Burliuk, the watercolor of the famous poet and artist Maximilian Voloshin, dear and always appreciated by collectors, as well as the reference works of the classics of Ukrainian painting: Mykola Glushchenko "Behind the Toilet", Sergei Shishko "Evening Silence", Vasily Chegodar "Verkhovna Rada" and one of the best portrait works of Viktor Zaretsky - "Eugene", with an estimated value of $100,000 - 150,000. For admirers of avant-garde art, early works of the 1920s will be presented. V. Ermilov, B. Kosarev, P. Galadzhev, as well as the works of the Ukrainian sixties I. Grigoriev, V. Lymarev, R. Selsky and others.

Auction block Contemporary art, represented by sixty authors. This time the task was to determine the circle of the most popular and significant authors. As the top lots of the contemporary art department, the following works are announced: representatives of the Paris Commune, Oleg Golosiy, Still Life with Bottles, Dmitry Kavsan's "Atlantic", the work of Alexander Gnilitsky from his most famous series "Dacha". This work is “exclusive” on the art market, since there are practically no works by Gnilitsky from this series, all of them were sold and today are in private collections, as well as in the collection of the Pinchuk Art Center Foundation.

An equally important and significant association of artists of the art group "Picturesque Reserve" is represented by the most expensive modern Ukrainian artist Anatoly Kryvolap, - a work from the "Structures" series, the rarest diptych by Marko Geiko "Composition", the work of Valentin Raevsky "Royal Gates" - this is the largest the canvas in the collection of the auction is 3x4 meters in size, which has a truly enormous collection and museum value. The audience will also be able to appreciate the collection works of Oleg Golosiy, Oleksandr Roytburd, Ilya Chichkan, Oleksandr Sukholit, Ilya Isupov, Anton Solomukha and other artists significant for Ukrainian contemporary art.

Among the young authors at the auction will be the works of PinchukArtPrize 2009 winner Artem Volokitin, PinchukArtPrize short-list participant Andrey Galashin, the sensational work of Maria Shubina, the giant sculpture of Beata Korn "The Hunter".

The presented collection of the "Design" department presents the viewer with 30 lots, each of which is a product of the creative genius of designers. The undoubted top lot in this block will be the Porsche 356 Speedster, 1958, the design of which set the tone and characteristics for all subsequent generations of the Porsche brand.

The collection of the "Design" block was selected with a focus on the conceptual design of the XX-XXI centuries. Thus, the work of Yury Ryntovt, the European traditions of object design - the work of Valery and Katerina Kuznetsov will demonstrate a high class in working with wood. In addition to the traditionally presented in this department interior items, lighting, as well as ceramic objects, the pre-auction show will have the opportunity to get acquainted with the kinetic installation of the Kharkov young designer Andrey Khvorostyanov.
