Marian Savelyev (b. 1932) - Ukrainian sculptor. Born in Lugansk. He graduated from Kyiv State Art Institute (1958). Teachers at the specialty - I. Makogon, O. Olejnik. Major works: "Start", "Fight", monuments of prominent scientists for Kiev Polytechnic Institute(1973-94), monuments - V. Kryschenko, A. Malyshko, P. Usenko. Member of the Union Artists of USSR . Savelyev has created more than a hundred works in marble, bronze, ceramics, but most are made of wood (nut, acacia, linden).
