Author Biography
Danylych Taras (born 1945) is a Ukrainian painter. Born in the village Turya Polyana, Transcarpathian region. Member of the Union of Artists of Ukraine (since 1989). He graduated from the woodworking department of the Uzhhorod School of Applied Arts (1964), where he studied with M. Medvetskyi, V. Svida, and A. Shepa. Participates in regional, all-Ukrainian, foreign, personal art exhibitions (since 1975). Head of the painting section of the Transcarpathian organization of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine (since 1999). Laureate of the Transcarpathian regional award named after Y. Bokshaya – A. Erdely (1996, 2009, 2015, 2017), Honored Artist of Ukraine (2005), People's Artist of Ukraine (2017). The artist's works are kept in the Transcarpathian Museum of Local Lore, the Ternopil Art Museum, and private collections in Europe and the United States. Lives and works in Transcarpathia.
