Author Biography
Utrillo Maurice (1833-1955) - French artist, graphic artist, theater decorator. He was born in Paris, France, in the family of artist and model Suzanne Valadon. He did not receive a professional art education, but did observe the work of Montmartre artists. After his first exhibit at the Salon (1909), a solo exhibition and recognition took place. The artist became known for his urban landscapes in an impressionistic manner and story compositions of city life. He was awarded the Legion of Honor (1928). He lived and worked in Paris.
