Press release
On October 12, CCA "M17" (Kyiv, Antonovycha St., 104) will host an auction of works of classical, underground and contemporary art - CLASSIC UNDERGROUND CONTEMPORARY. Organizer - the auction house "Golden Section".

The open pre-auction exhibition, which traditionally precedes the auction, will open its doors on October 8th. For the first time, the Golden Section will hold an auction in a new format - the organizers will combine silent and live auctions. Everyone will be able to place bets starting from the official opening on October 7, and the 5-day battles will end on October 12 with traditional live trading. Also, during the silent auction period from October 8 to the live auction - October 12, 19:00, it will be possible to place bids on the site, directly on the lot page.

The total number of lots - 124 works. The auction will feature three main blocks - classical, underground and contemporary art.

“In honor of the 30th anniversary auction, we decided to hold a celebratory and in many ways experimental auction at lower prices - initially we set a low starting price, which is two to four times lower than the market price. At the same time, there will be no reserve price - the minimum at which you can purchase a work. That is, all works can be bought at a low starting price if there is no auction,” says Mikhail Vasilenko, co-owner of the Golden Section auction house.

Alexey Vasilenko, another co-owner of the Golden Section auction house, is sure that it is an unusual approach, as well as low prices, that will allow auctioneers to succeed. “Moreover, in private sales, we see a very keen interest in the authors who will be represented at the auction,” he emphasizes.

In particular, we are talking about the classic block, within which the auction house will offer works by Nikolai Glushchenko (“Last Snow”, estimate - $15-20 thousand), David Burliuk (“Capri”, $9-12 thousand, “Dedication to Marusya” with an etimate of $15-20 thousand), Sergei Shishko (“Roses and Snowdrops”, estimate - $15-20 thousand), Ivan Trush (“Rocky Coast”, $10-14 thousand) and other masters.

Modern art will be presented by no less talented and eminent authors - Marco Geiko ("The Dove"), Alexander Kharchenko ("Swallow's Nest"), Taisiya Galagan (Tatiana Gershuni, "Picasso"), Maxim Mamsikov ("The Sea"), Alexander Roitburd (work from the series “Gay Gothic”), Mikhail Deyak (“In the Garden”), Matvey Vaysberg (“Dove”), Oleg Tistol (“Borscht. Sour Cream”) and others.

Estimates for paintings by the listed contemporaries range from $2,000 to $10,000.

Registration for the live auction on October 12, 2016 will take place during the pre-auction exhibition and the silent auction or by calling:
