Biography
Taras Levkiv (1940-2025) was a Ukrainian artist of decorative and applied arts. He graduated from the Lviv Institute of Applied and Decorative Arts (1971). An artist without whose name it is impossible to imagine the formation of the Lviv school of ceramics and who became the first representative of Ukraine at the International Biennale in Valoris, France (1972). He taught at the Ivan Trush College of Applied and Decorative Arts in Lviv (now he is the head of the ceramics department there), Honoured Artist of Ukraine. Levkiv's ceramics are kept in many museums in Ukraine, the Czech Republic, Russia, Georgia, and Germany.
