Biography
Olena Skytsiuk (b. 1950) - was born on January 16 in Kyiv, in the family of prominent artists M. Tymchenko and I. Skytsyuk. Active participant of exhibitions (since 1967). Graduated from the Lviv State Institute of Decorative and Applied Arts (1968-1973), faculty of artistic ceramics, diploma of an artist of decorative and applied arts. She worked at the Kyiv Experimental Ceramics and Art Factory (1973-1974); Kyiv Combine of Monumental and Decorative Arts (since 1974), a monumental artist. Entered the NSHU (1978). Painting of the Kazka store in Kyiv for the International Year of the Child (1979). of the central children's library for the 950th anniversary of Bila Tserkva (1982-1983), together with I. Skytsyuk and M. Tymchenko, and other monumental paintings. Active teaching activity (since 1988). She taught at the children's studio "Mozaika" (1988-1991); consultant-teacher at the school of folk arts in Fastov (since 1992). Entered the NSMNMU (1993). Member of the bureau of the DPM section of the CPSU (since 1995). Teacher at KDAM (1995), where during the teaching period numerous students became winners of all-Ukrainian and international competitions. Specialist of the highest category (1997). Teacher of the Institute of Decorative and Applied Art and Design named after M. Boychuk (since 2000). The owner of a large number of orders, medals and certificates. Art prize "Kyiv" named after S. Kolosa in the field of folk decorative art (2011). Laureate of the award named after K. Bilokur (2011). Works are in Ukrainian museums and foreign private collections (Germany, Canada, USA).
