Press release
On September 18, 2024, the auction of the 64th auction "Ukrainian Collectable Art" will start in the gallery of the Goldens auction house. The selection represents the works of Ukrainian artists of different time periods — from the end of the 19th century to the end of the 20th century — and will combine rare works of masters whose work has become an integral part of the cultural heritage of Ukraine and Europe. The auction will present a unique collection of works by artists of various art schools and directions.

Among the outstanding names of the Kyiv school, the works of Anatoliy Turovskyi, Maria Prymachenko, Mykola Hlushchenko and sixties artists Alla Horska and Viktor Zaretskyi will be presented at the auction. The works of Anatoliy Turovsky rarely come across the art market and are always of interest to collectors. The names of Maria Prymachenko, Mykola Hlushchenko, Alla Gorska and Viktor Zaretsky are included in the pantheon of artists whose works add weight to any gathering. The auction will feature a graphic work by Alla Horska from 1960 and a painting by Viktor Zaretsky from 1986-1990, which is one of the top lots of this selection. In his "Encounter" his unique style is as vivid as possible: a combination of modernism with the Ukrainian national tradition, the dominance of drama and exquisite decoration.

"Spring" by Mykola Hlushchenko is another top lot of the selection - a work of the 1970s - one of the most iconic periods in the artist's work, marked by bright colors and expressive strokes. Collector interest in Hlushchenko's works is growing due to his unique style, which combines European influence with a deep national identity. Paintings from this period are often highly valued at auctions, as they demonstrate the mature stage of the artist's work.

The art of the first half of the 20th century is represented this time by a wide selection of the names of École de Paris artists and emigrant artists: Isaac Payles, Mykola Isayev, Boris Pastukhov, Mykola Krychevskyi, Vasyl Khmelyuk, Yakov Shapiro, Michel Korochanskyi, Mani Mavro, David Burliuk, Ivan Babii.

The Transcarpathian school of painting is represented by the works of Andriy Kotsky, Adalbert Erdeli, Fedor Manaylo, Josyp Bokshay, Gavril Glyuk, Adalbert Boretsky, Ferenc Seman, Elizaveta Kremnytska. Rare works of artists vividly demonstrate the influence of modern and post-impressionist tendencies of Western European painting in the Ukrainian context and perception.

The auction selection is also diversified with paintings from the Crimean and Odesa painting schools - works by Fyodor Zakharov, Valentina Tsvetkova, Yuri Yehorov, - from Kharkiv - Viktor Zarubin - and from Lviv: works by Oleh Minko and Lyubomir Medvid.
The top lots of the auction were the already mentioned works by Mykola Hlushchenko, Viktor Zaretskyi, as well as the French landscape by Adalbert Erdely from the 1930s, "Girl with a Ball" from 1989 by Yuri Yehorov, an artist of the first rank of the Odessa school of painting, the famous still life "Dedication to V. Mayakovsky » of the 1950s by David Burliuk, the painting "The Winds Swinging in the Cherry Orchard" by Ivan Marchuk in 2000 from the series "Star Trek", the rare story work "Blue Beard" by Ferenc Seman in 1993 and works by authors whose works are rarely found on sale - Leonid Chychkan and Ivan Babii.
