Code of Freedom: From the Sixties to Contemporaries
From March 20 to April 12, the Goldens auction house will host the exhibition project "Code of Freedom: From the Sixties to Contemporaries". The exhibition brings together the work of iconic artists of several generations who have shaped and continue to shape the cultural code of independent Ukraine.
The selection presents works by prominent artists, including Les Podervyansky, Elizaveta Kremnytska, Oleg Sokolov, Matviy Vaisberg, Anatoly Kryvolap, Lyubov Minenko, Oleksandr Sukholit, Oleksandr Babak, Igor Yanovich, Yuriy Yegorov, Halyna Neledva, Andriy Sahaidakovsky, Pavlo Kerestey, Dmytro Nahurny, Serhiy Zhyvotkov, Volodymyr Makarenko, Edita Medvetska-Lutak, Zoya Lerman, Ferenc Seman, Ada Rybachuk, Volodymyr Melnychenko, Viktor Grigorov, Ivan Marchuk, Viktor Zaretsky, Oleg Holosiy.
The exhibition reveals the evolution of artistic resistance and artistic searches from the era of the sixties to modern art practices. The presented works reflect the struggle for freedom of thought, the search for national identity and the rethinking of social realities.
The sixties, working under a totalitarian regime, used art as a means of silent but powerful protest. Their works are filled with symbols of national revival, experiments with form and color, as well as internal drama that reflected complex social processes. Despite censorship and persecution, they were able to preserve the authenticity of artistic expression and pass it on to future generations. The art of contemporaries presented at the exhibition continues the tradition of artistic freedom, but in new forms and contexts.
"The Code of Freedom" demonstrates the connection between generations of Ukrainian artists, who affirm freedom as a fundamental value through their works.
The exhibition includes more than 40 paintings and sculptures.
The exhibition is open to the public from Monday to Saturday from 12:00 to 19:00.
