Alexander ALTMANN (1885-1950) is a French painter. Born in a Jewish family, in a village near Kiev. He studied in hedera, being a teenager went to work in Odessa. In 1900, he entered the Parisian Academy of Julien, turning to the theme of the landscape. Goes to Austria (1905), and then returns to France. He made sketches of famous paintings in the Louvre. For some time he lived in La Ruche. In 1908, his first exhibition is held, and then exhibited in the famous Parisian salons - Independent, Tuileries and Autumn. A joint exhibition with David Josephovich Vidof and Naum Lvovich Aronson (1912). Altman's paintings are in the collections of French government institutions, collections of the Museum of Luxembourg and other museums in the world.
