Auction of collectible classical art at Goldens auction house

From May 30 to June 8, the 61st auction - "Collectible Classical Art" - dedicated to the works of Ukrainian classics from the 1890s to the beginning of the 20th century, will be held in the hall of the Goldens auction house.

Such an artistic section allows a wide representation of Ukrainian art in the diversity of its schools and directions. In particular, the auction selection includes works by artists of the Kyiv, Kharkiv, Lviv, Transcarpathian schools of painting, as well as emigrant artists: Hryhoriy Kruk, Isaac Pyles, Abram Manevich. The selection includes unique works that represent not only artistic, but also collection interest.

In particular, among the top lots of the auction, you will be able to see the works of Serhiy Vasylkivskyi, Volodymyr Orlovskyi, Hryhoriy Svitlytskyi, Abram Manevich, Mykola Hlushchenko, Serhii Shishko, Viktor Zaretskyi, Mykhailo Bozhii, Roman Selskyi, Mihai Munkachi and the main representatives of the Transcarpathian school of painting: Adalbert Erdeli, Yosyp Bokshaya, Andrii Kotsky, Fedor Manayla, Ferenc Seman.

The most expensive auction lot will be Ivan Marchuk's famous work "The Moon Rises over the Dnieper" (1980), which was recently exhibited in the National Museum "Kyiv Art Gallery" as the artist's most iconic lunar landscape. This work is considered the largest in format in this series by Marchuk.

The collection also included works from the private collection of the writer Oles Honchar: the painting "In the Yard" by Pyotr Levchenko and the graphic work "The Shepherd of Hygla" by the Georgian artist Lado Gudiashvili.

The Kyiv Art School at the auction is represented by the works of turn-of-the-century classics - Serhiy Vasylkivskyi, Valentin Feldman, Volodymyr Orlovskyi, as well as by artists whose work spanned the heart of the century - Oleksiy Shovkunenko, Serhii Shishko, Mykola Hlushchenko, and the 1960s artist Viktor Zaretskyi.

Among the representatives of the Kharkiv school in the selection of the auction, it is worth noting the names of outstanding landscape painters: Mykola Burachek, Petro Levchenko, Konstantin Pyneev. Their impressionistic works have incorporated advanced world trends and at the same time the color, technical techniques and worldview inherent in our national school.

Transcarpathia and the Lviv Art School became separate centers of Ukrainian art of the 20th century, with a sensitive perception of modern trends in world art and their reinterpretation on a creative Ukrainian basis. The auction selection includes the works of iconic Transcarpathian artists Andriy Kotsky, Yosyp Bokshay, Fedor Manayl, Adalbert Erdeli, Gavril Glyuk, Ferenc Seman, as well as iconic Lviv residents Roman Selskyi and Volodymyr Patyk.

A separate block of the collection is traditionally represented by a sculpture. This time it included Olga Rapai's ironic and poignant sculpture of Harlequin and Pierrot, early works by Hryhori Kruk, and Yuliy Synkevych's graceful sculpture from 1987.
