Author Biography
Mykola Sheliuto (1906-1984) was a Ukrainian painter, landscape painter. Born in the village Hlukhivka, Gomel region. He graduated from Odesa Art Institute (1931), where he studied with P. Volokidin, D. Krainev, and V. Zauze. Honored Artist of the Ukrainian SSR (1958). A follower of the traditions of the Wanderers. Participant of republican, all-Union and private exhibitions. The works are stored in many museums of Ukraine and private collections of the USSR and Europe. Lived and worked in Odesa. The influence of Russian realism art and impressionist art of the 19th and early 20th centuries is clearly visible in Sheliuto's works.
