Sonia Lewitska (1882-1937) - Ukrainian artist, painter, graphic artist. Born in the Khmelnitsky region. The sister of the famous writer and cultural figure M. Levytsky. The first lessons of painting were received from the Polish artist T. Kazanovsky in Zhytomyr. Then he continued his artistic education in S. Svitoslavsky's studio in Kyiv. He moved to Paris (1905), where he studied at the artist J. Marshana. She exhibited her works in the Autumn Salon, Salon Independent, salon Tuileries. Has attained high craftsmanship in xylography. Personal exhibitions were held in 1913, 1924, 1930, 1938 (all in Paris). He worked hard on illustrating and designing books, collaborating with Musical Review, Tresor de la bibliotheque and others. The most popular films were made in the traditions of Ukrainian folk art. I wrote landscapes, scenes from rural life, fairy tales, still lifes. The works are presented at the National Museum of Contemporary Art in Paris, the Albertina Gallery in Vienna, the Museums of Le Havre and many other cities.
