Ernest Kontratovych (1912-2009) – was a painter, landscape artist, genre artist. He was born in the village of Kalna Roztoka, Slovakia. Studied at art school under A. Erdeli. Member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine (1946). Participated in exhibitions (since 1934), jubilee personal exhibitions in Uzhgorod (since 1968 and every five years). Retrospective exhibition in Kyiv (2001), jubilee exhibition on the occasion of the 90th anniversary in Uzhhorod (2002). Lived and worked in Uzhhorod. People's Artist of Ukraine (1991).
