Author Biography
Mykhailo Lishchyner (1912-1992) is a Ukrainian and Soviet painter of Moldavian origin. Born in Tiraspol, Moldova. He studied at the Kamyanets-Podilsky Art and Industrial School (1926-1931) under V. Hagenmeister; Kyiv Art Institute (1934-1941) by P. Volokidin. He taught at the Lviv Institute of Applied and Decorative Arts (1947-1954). He worked in the Art Fund of the USSR (1954-1972). Personal exhibitions in Chisinau (1969), Lviv (1972, 1982, 1987, 1991). The artist's works are stored in the Lviv National Art Gallery, art museums in Chisinau and Khmelnytsky, in private collections in Ukraine and abroad.
