Press release
On September 25, the CCA "M17" will host the first in 2014 auction "Golden Section" for the sale of art objects. The theme of this auction is POST WAR & CONTEMPORARY ART (post-war and contemporary contemporary art)

100 lots will be put up for auction. Among them are the works of contemporary artists - Marco Geiko, Leonid Vartyvanov, Alexandra Chichkan, Stepan Ryabchenko, Dmitry Kavsan, Ksenia Gnilitskaya and others. As well as works by artists of unofficial movements of the 60-80s - Ernest Kotkov, Grigory Gavrilenko, Roman Selsky, Viktor Zaretsky , Alla Gorskaya.

According to Mikhail Vasilenko, co-owner of Golden Section AD, this event is very important not only for the company, but also for the Ukrainian art market as a whole. “Given the economic and social tension in Ukraine, as well as the decline in purchasing power, including for luxury goods, the Ukrainian art market is very “dipped”. In order to prevent a complete decline, the market needs to be "started", give it a push. This can be done thanks to this auction, and this is also the mission and social responsibility of all collectors,” says Mikhail Vasilenko.

Experts note: the current situation - falling prices, reduced demand - the best period for investing in art. This is a chance to purchase works by promising artists at a discounted price. “Don't expect further price reductions. When the situation stabilizes, prices for professional art will again begin to grow rapidly,” Mikhail Vasilenko predicts. Representatives of the auction house also specify: the average cost of the exhibited lots at the upcoming auction will be $1.5 thousand.

“Each of the works has passed a qualified examination and a strict selection of our specialists, which confirm its high artistic level and prospects in terms of investment. Collectors who purchase the lots offered at the auction will receive an asset that is already worth 30-50% more than the starting price. After all, we put up lots at low prices in order to “start” the market,” emphasizes another co-owner of AD “Golden Section” Alexey Vasilenko.

On September 25, 2014, a new auction format will be applied for the first time - a pre-auction exhibition and bidding in one evening.

The online catalog of the auction is already available for viewing on the website of the auction house.
