Kaplan Samuel (1928-2021) is a Ukrainian graphic artist and painter. Born in Baku, Azerbaijan. He graduated from the Shevchenko State Art School (1952) and the Kyiv Art Institute (1962). Participant in solo and group exhibitions (since 1957). Member of the Union of Artists of the USSR (1964). He emigrated to the United States (1991). Lived and worked in New York. The artist's works are stored in museums in more than 20 cities in Ukraine and abroad.
