Author Biography
Jackson Pollock (1912-1956) - American artist, one of the most famous representatives of abstract expressionism. Born in Cody, Wyoming (USA). He graduated from the College of Applied Arts in Los Angeles. He moved to New York (1930), where he studied with Thomas Benton in the Art Students League of New York. Worked as part of the WPA Federal Art Project (1938-1942). He signed with Peggy Guggenheim (1943), collaborated with other galleries (1940-50's). The first solo exhibition was held at the Betty Pansons Gallery (1948).
