Biography
Korchovy Vasyl (born 1962) is a Ukrainian sculptor and painter. Member of the UWS (since 1989). He graduated from the sculpture faculty of the Kyiv State Art Institute (1989). Works in the fields of easel and monumental realistic sculpture; is engaged in wood carving, interior and architectural projects, painting. Uses Zbruchany limestone, sandstone, bronze, marble, granite. He has taken part in all-Ukrainian (since the 1990s) and personal (since 2005) art exhibitions. The works are stored in the National Museum in Lviv, the Museum of the Battle of Poltava, Khmelnytsky Art Museum. Winner of the Grand Prix of the All-Ukrainian Triennial "Sculpture-2005". The winner of the competition of the Kyiv organization of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine named after M. Lysenko's "Sculpture of the Year" (2007, 2009). Honored Artist of Ukraine (since 2013). Lives and works in Kyiv.
