Zhukovsky Stanislav

Zhukovsky Stanislav (1873-1944) - Russian, Polish and Belarusian artist. He comes from a family of Polish aristocrats and lived in the Grodno province. In 1892, against his father's will, Stanislav moved to Moscow, where he entered the Art School to become an artist. His teacher - Russian landscape painter Isaac Levitan. Participated in exhibitions of nomads (since 1895). The artist's painting "Moonlight" was purchased for the collection of the Tretyakov Gallery (1899). He quickly became a famous artist, making landscapes and still lifes in the style of Impressionism. His work is a contribution to the late culture of the Russian and Polish-Lithuanian nobility. He later participated in exhibitions of the art society "World of Art". He lived mainly in Moscow, where he founded a private art school, where he taught in 1907-1917. By decree of Vladimir Lenin, Poland restored its statehood, and after the end of the Polish-Soviet War, he emigrated together to his historic homeland (1923).
