Roman Zhuk "Spring Vibes"
Press release
A bright new project by the famous Ukrainian-Dutch artist Roman Zhuk will be shown in Kyiv
On March 14, a personal exhibition of works by Roman Zhuk, one of the founders of the Ukrainian trance avant-garde, Spring Vibes, will open in the exhibition space of the "Zolotoe Sechenie" auction house (Kyiv, 4 Pervomaiskyi str.).
The organizer of the exhibition is the "Zolotoe Sechenie" auction house. The exhibition will last until April 5, entry is free for everyone.
The author, who has lived between Amsterdam and Lviv for more than 30 years, will present 22 works created in 1988-2019 in the capital of the Netherlands. The main part of the exposition is large-scale paintings with the image of flowers, in which the artist hides a deep allegory. The author will also present several exotic still lifes, with the help of which he masterfully conveys the sexuality of male and female principles.
"I am pleased that "Zolotoe Sechenie" was offered to show works that were created at different times, but united by one theme. The theme is the feeling of the arrival of spring, the birth of new sensations and the suffocation of past memories, the emergence of hopes. I am showing some works for the first time, although they were created several years ago. In my works, the color, texture, tone, and compositional solution always attract me in the first place," says Roman Zhuk, the author of the project.
The artist often "sins" with surrealistic images, for which some world art critics call him the Ukrainian René Magritte or Max Ernst.
"The Spring Vibes exhibition by Roman Zhuk will open a series of interesting and relevant personal projects, which, alternating with auctions and group projects, will be held in the auction house in 2019," says Mykhailo Vasylenko, co-owner of "Golden Section".
