Kolnik Arthur (1890-1972) - French and Ukrainian artist. Born in the city. Stanislav (now Ivano-Frankivsk). Entry to the Krakow Academy of Arts (1909), where he studied under J. Mehoffera. Moving to c. Chernovtsy, while Romania (1919). There, along with the famous Jewish writer E. Steinbarg printed alphabet "Alefbeys" (1921). Since 1931 lives in Paris. Illustrates "Metamorphosis of a melody" I. Perez (1948). For his graphic work gets a prize in New York (1955). Kolnyk - a brilliant representative of the Paris School. His works are kept in many museums and private collections around the world.
