Author Biography
Corbero-i-Olivella Xavier (born 1935) is a Spanish (Catalan) artist and sculptor. He studied at Escola Massana in Barcelona and the Central School of Arts and Crafts in London. Worked with the Medici Foundation in Lausanne. I learned the influence of Pablo Gargallio and Henry Moore. Participant in the Spanish-American Biennale (1955) and the Mayan Salon in Barcelona (1955). A participant in numerous personal (since 1963) and group exhibitions. The works were exhibited in many countries of Europe, New York and Japan and presented in collections of many museums such as the Metropolitan Museum in New York, the City Museum in Amsterdam, the Museum of Victoria and Albert in London, and others. Works in Paris, Barcelona and New York. He created a complex of buildings in the old center of Espluces de Llobregat to provide accommodation for artists who visit Barcelona. He was a consultant at the Barcelona City Hall in choosing works of artists to place their works on the streets and squares of the city, in preparation for the 1992 Summer Olympics.
