December 9, 2011 in the halls of the hotel "Donbass Palace" will be the grand opening of the pre-auction exhibition of Ukrainian and Russian contemporary art. The organizer of the exhibition is the auction house "Golden Section", the first and only auction house in Ukraine today, specializing in contemporary art (contemporary art). The exhibition collection includes works by many key Ukrainian authors of the last two decades.

The pre-auction exhibition will be the first of its kind large-scale demonstration of contemporary art in the Donbass region. The works selected by experts will be of interest to both experienced collectors and the general public, who are not indifferent to the most current trends in art.

One of the central works of the exhibition will be the painting by Anatoly Kryvolap, the leading representative of the art group "Picturesque Reserve" and the most expensive artist of Ukraine today, included in the Top 100 most influential people in Ukraine according to the magazine "Korrespondent". Krivolap's painting is successfully sold at the auctions of one of the world's main auctions Phillips de Pury and Christie's, and the last canvas, “Night. The Horse went under the hammer for $124,400.

At the exhibition, you will see the work of Ilya Chichkan, perhaps the most famous Ukrainian artist on the international stage, a participant in the most authoritative art forum in the world, the Venice Biennale. The painting “Saatchi” is from the newest and most sensational series “Rear Entrance to the Museum”, in which Chichkan worked together with the famous Ukrainian graphite PSYFOX.

Of great interest is the work of Oleksandr Roytburd, one of the most respected Ukrainian masters, “the patriarch of the Ukrainian transavant-garde”, whose personal exhibition has recently opened in the capital's PinchukArtCentre. The plot of the work presented at the exhibition was inspired by the scandalous story of the abduction from the Odessa Museum in 2008 of a painting by the 17th century Italian artist Michelangelo di Caravaggio. Impressed by these events, Alexander Roitburd completed one of the most successful series of works "Roitburd VS Caravaggio", a work from which will appear at the pre-auction exhibition.

In the collection section of the auction selection, it is worth highlighting the monumental work "The Flood" (1989) by one of the most significant figures of the Ukrainian transavant-garde, Vasily Ryabchenko from Odessa, and a photograph of the Kiev grandee Arsen Savadov from the "Undeground 2000" series, made in salt mines near Donetsk in 1999 Here you can also note the work "Blackmail" (2007) from the series "Sex, Money and Trunks" by Vasily Tsagolov, Ukrainian artist, author of unique installations and performances, famous photo and video series on criminal topics. These rare and exceptionally collectible works are a real find of the Golden Section experts.

Of great interest are the paintings of two famous Russian artists Alexander Savko and Larisa Zvezdochetova. The most scandalous modern artist in Moscow, the extremist A. Savko, is represented by the painting “Letter from the Front”, and Larisa Zvezdochetova “Three Matryoshkas”. We can say with confidence that these artists today set the tone for Russian contemporary art and are among the top ten contemporary Moscow artists.

Also at the exhibition there will be works by such famous Ukrainian authors: M. Mamsikov, I. Gusev, S. Bazylev, A. Gankevich, P. Makov, V. Trubina, O. Zhivotkov, A. Sidorenko, L. Voitsekhov, I. Tsyupka , Bondero, V. Budnikov, R. Zhuk, I. Isupov, K. Solovieva, A. Sukholit and others.

In addition to the art of recognized masters, the exhibition will feature selected works by young and promising authors who have also managed to make themselves known both in Ukrainian and in the world cultural environment. Many current trends and techniques of contemporary art are presented: painting, photo, collage, object, street art, digital art. Among the authors: Artem Volokitin, Ksenia Gnilitskaya, Oleg Suslenko, Zoya Orlova, Maxim Mirnov, Taras Kovach, Nazar Bilyk, Andrey Babchinsky, as well as PinchukArtCentre 2011 nominees Masha Shubina, Stepan Ryabchenko and others.

The auction collection is estimated by experts at $650,000 - $850,000. The auction will take place on December 17th.
