Oleksandr Bogomazov (1880-1930) is an artist, graphic designer, teacher, prominent representative of the Ukrainian and world avant-garde. Born in the village Yampil He studied at the gymnasium and the Kherson Zemstvo Agricultural School. Entered the Kyiv Art School (1902), where he studied under O. Murashko and I. Seleznyov. Studied in private studios of F. Rerberg and K. Yuon. Author of the innovative treatise "Painting and Elements" (1913-1914). Together with O. Ekster, he is the founder of the art association "Kiltse". One of the founders of the Association of Revolutionary Art of Ukraine (1927). Engaged in teaching activities (since 1917). Employee of the All-Ukrainian Art Department of the People's Commissariat of Education of the Ukrainian SSR (1919), professor at the Kyiv Art Institute (1922-1930). Works are stored in private and museum collections in Ukraine and abroad. Lived and worked in Kyiv.
