Author Biography
Serhiy Bakaev (1922-2010) is a Ukrainian painter. Born in Semipalatinsk, Russia. He graduated from the Simferopol Art School named after M. Samokysha (1951), where he studied with V. Bernadskyi, T. Kuznetsov, and M. Kroshytskyi. Works in the field of easel painting. Participates in Republican and All-Union exhibitions (since 1960). Honored artist ARC. Participant of the Second World War, knight of the Order of the Patriotic War II degree, medals "For Courage", "For Victory over Germany" and others. The artist's works are kept in the collections of the NHMU, the Kharkiv Art Museum, the Chernihiv Historical Museum, the Alupkin Palace, the Simferopol Art Museum, and others. Lived and worked in Yalta.
