Volodymyr Menk (1856-1920) is a Ukrainian and Russian artist. Born in Arkhangelsk. He graduated from the drawing school at the Society of Mobile Artists in St. Petersburg. He studied at the St. Petersburg Academy of Arts (1878-1881), took lessons from I. Shishkin and I. Kramsky. Exhibitor of the exhibitions of the Moscow Art Gallery, the Moscow Society of Art Lovers, the Imperial Academy of Arts, international exhibitions in Berlin (1902), London (1911), Venice (1914). He traveled to the Crimea, the Caucasus, Austria, Germany and Italy. Since 1886 he lived and worked in Kyiv. One of the initiators of the Kyiv Art School. Participated in painting the Volodymyr Cathedral in Kyiv. He taught at the Fundukleiv Girls' Gymnasium (since 1892), the Kyiv Drawing School of M. Murashko (1896-1920). Among his students are O. Exter, O. Bogomazov, F. Konovalyuk and others. The works are stored in the Odesa Art Museum, the State Tretyakov Gallery, etc. museum and private gatherings.
