Author Biography
Minas Avetisyan, K. (1928-1975) - Armenian painter, muralist, scene painter and graphic artist. Born in the village Jajur, Armenia. He studied at the F. Terlemezyan Yerevan College (1947-1952), at the Yerevan Fine Arts and Theatre Institute (1952-1954) and at the Leningrad Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture named after Ilya Repin (1952-1954), where one of his main professors was B. Johanson . From 1960 he lived and worked in Yerevan. Was a friend of N. Saryan, who was his spiritual master. The exhibition "Five Artists" (Yerevan, 1962) made him famous. Honored Artist of Armenia (1968). In 1972 there was a fire in the artist's studio, which caused a loss of almost all his heritage. The artist died tragically in a car accident. Avetisyan`s art works are extremely rare and highly valued after in the art market.
