Author Biography
Roy Fox Lichtenstein (1923-1997) - an American artist, one of the most influential figures in the style of pop art. In the 60s of the twentieth century, he began to create paintings based on magazine comics, which made him immensely popular both in America and abroad. At the same time, he begins to write a series of homosexuals-references to paintings by well-known artists, such as Pablo Picasso, Vincent van Gogh and Henri Matisse. In addition, in different periods of creativity Liechtenstein creates sculptures with a pattern imitating a raster print. Roy Liechtenstein entered the history of world art as the creator of a new modern style, as a master who has radically changed the manner of writing and the aesthetic program several times. He was searching for life all the time, which would allocate him from the whole mass of artists. Today paintings by Liechtenstein are sold at auctions for tens of millions of dollars.
