Biography
Constantin Terechkovitch (1902-1978) - Russian-French artist, stage designer, book schedule. Famous representative of "n Paris", painter, graphic artist, illustrator, author of critical articles. Born in with Meshcherskoye, Moscow region Studied in the studios of K. Yuona (since 1911), I. Mashkov and F. Rerberg. He entered the MUZHSA, where he studied at P. Kuznetsov (1917). Due to military confusion, he was in Batumi, where he worked on a tea plantation. Illegally moved to Constantinople, serving as a stables in the British cavalry. In 1920, without money and a passport, he got to Marseilles, then to Paris. He found refuge in the critic S. Romov, thanks to whom he met M. Larionov and V. Bart. Studied at the Grand Schomierre Academy. He was friends with M. Chagall, M. Kissling and P. Kremen, sometimes working in the workshop H. Sutin. Personal exhibition in the gallery of Neumann (1923). In the early 1920s, he published critical articles and essays in the magazine "Udar" and the newspaper "Days". Exhibited in salons: Autumn (from 1934 - member of the salon), Tuileries and Independents. He has participated in numerous group exhibitions with French and Russian artists in Paris, Geneva, Chicago, New York, Moscow, Belgrade and others. He attended solo exhibitions in Paris galleries T. Carmine (1924, jointly with V. Bart and A. Lansky), Ch.-A. Girard (1927-1934), Quatre Chemins (1927), Bernier (1948-1964), Petrids (1953-1975), galleries of Zurich, Nice, London, Tokyo, etc. He wrote landscapes, still lifes and genre scenes. In 1930 he began a series of picturesque portraits of friends: H. Sutina, P. Bonnard, J. Roo, J. Braque, K. Van Dogen, A. Deren, R. Dufi and many others. The works were purchased by the Museum of the Je de Pom and the Grenoble Museum. Together with the paintings by M. Bryanshon, R. Lloyd and J. d'Asaiy created the group "Poetic Reality" (1948). He is the author of numerous lithographic series, watercolors and illustrations. Worked long in Finland, Tunisia, Algeria, Mexico, the USA and the Far East (1950-1960s). He received the Grand Prize of the 1st Biennale in Menton (1951). He was awarded the Order of the Honor Legion and the Order of Arts and Literature. Presented at major collections in Europe and the United States.
