Biography
Maarten de Vos (approx. 1532-1603) is a Dutch artist of the second half of the 16th century, a mannerist man. The father's family had four children. The father himself was an artist and the first artistic skills a son gained in his father's studio. The artist was distinguished by a wide range of themes that were reproduced in the drawings. These are widespread scenes from the Old and New Testaments, numerous allegories, four human temperaments, the seasons, five senses, four elements, the planet, the allegories of the then-known continents, the life span of a man, and others like that.
