Danilov Boris

Borys Danylov (born 1950) is a Ukrainian artist. He was born in Lviv. He graduated from the Lviv National Academy of Arts. Member of the Union of Artists of Ukraine. The artist works on the creation of author's forms in porcelain - unique vases, abstract spatial volumes, painted in a unique technique of overglaze and underglaze painting. The master was repeatedly invited to international symposia in the Baltic countries (1997-2007). In 1996, he carried out an author's project on porcelain painting at the Imperial Porcelain Factory in St. Petersburg. The aim of the project was to revive the almost lost technique of underglaze porcelain painting. The bright and original narrative paintings on large porcelain vases were exhibited at the National Art Museum of Ukraine in Kyiv. In 1997, the artist was invited to hold a master class in porcelain painting in Austria at the Royal Manufactory-Museum ‘Augarten’, which strictly follows the historical tradition: from the European classicism of the eighteenth century to the modernism of the early twentieth century. As a result of fruitful cooperation, the works were presented at the annual Augarten auction. The artist's original works are kept in the National Museum of Ukrainian Folk Art, the National Art Museum of Ukraine, the Museum of Contemporary Art in Khmelnytsky, as well as in many private collections in Ukraine, Russia, Europe, America and Japan.
